The hotel we stayed at for two consecutive years. Despite finding slightly cheaper options nearby when looking for a hotel this year, we willingly chose this hotel again. We didn't know that the room would be smaller this year compared to the much larger one we had last year. The hotel has an excellent location. You can enjoy complimentary 24/7 coffee and tea service in the lobby. For those interested, there's a paid breakfast service available. The hotel provides discounted cards for activities in Amsterdam.
I would like to express special thanks to Alperen and Daria, who assisted us during our stay. Both of them were very friendly and helpful.
Additional note: When you go to the back garden of the hotel to have coffee, a white cat might come to visit. If it does, please treat it kindly and enjoy the moment :)
A really nice hotel with amazing communal area, nicely decorated when we stayed at Christmas too.
One thing to note is that the bathrooms are perhaps a little smaller than expected, but still functional, however this is made up for by a generously sized room.
Great location. Lots of restaurants nearby. Supermarket is two blocks away. Tram is 5 minutes away. Close to museums. Very comfortable beds. Rooms are small, but this is Holland. Excellent service.
Nice and Cosy Hotel, perfect located to be outside the touristic trouble but your pretty fast in the heart of Amsterdam.
Save your money for the breakfast, it was pretty chaotic and definitely not worth the money.
You’ll finde way nicer places close to the hotel to really annoy a good breakfast.
Smallest hotel room in my life, very thin walls, pleasant location, comfy bed (after I removed the horrid feeling rubber sheet). Reception uneven in manner (depends on the person) but always helpful. Breakfast was good.
I would personally avoid this hotel if your sleep is important to you while travelling. The no A/C was extremely difficult to get past and it caused us to be overly warm during the nights and made us restless. The bed was also so uncomfortable and was literally on a slant. The fan running in the room was quite useless too as the room was so stuffy and the fan was noisy. Having the window open helped but it caused us to hear all the noises outdoors and invites mosquitos in. Truly the worst sleeping experience my partner and I have had during our travels. The room was also incredibly small and made us feel very claustrophobic. The only silver lining was that the front desk workers were some of the nicest people ever and the location is prime. But truly, if you want to sleep well on your stay in amsterdam, please don’t stay here. You will have massive eye bags and sweat the night away.
Great hotel! Quaint rooms, we had a beautiful balcony, and everything we needed. They were so kind to our daughter, and left her a little note and treat for her birthday! They made our stay feel very special. Welcoming staff, great location for museums and trams.
We ended up at the Alexander after the Owl hotel played a trick on us and was overbooked.
The check-in was smooth and friendly. I was not quite happy with the room, which …
